For over 30 years, I have been a special educator, a profession I chose with my heart. It all began when, as a young adult, I met a 6-year-old boy with Down syndrome. This encounter was a turning point in my life. At that moment, I realised that I wanted to dedicate my career to supporting people in difficulty.

Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with different groups of people: first with individuals with mental health issues, then with adults with learning disabilities in a sheltered workshop (formerly known as CAT). I have also supported adolescents with physical disabilities before returning to a residential home for working adults with disabilities.

This profession is much more than a job. It has taught me to listen, to understand, and to support each person according to their needs and abilities. It has also allowed me to develop my creativity, whether to find solutions, encourage autonomy, or provide support in difficult times. Today, I can say that my patience and empathy have been profoundly shaped by these years of working with others.

But that's not all. A few years ago, I decided to take a new step in my life: to open a shop to showcase Corsican craftsmanship, while sharing my own sewing creations.

Sewing: a passion that soothes and inspires me

I am not a professional seamstress, but I learned to sew on my own, guided by my curiosity and my desire to create. When I am not an educator, I am at the shop, a place that has become my haven of peace. There, I can interact with my clients, imagine new creations, and let myself be carried away by the calm of sewing.

Each piece I create is unique. Just like in my profession as an educator, where each person is supported according to their individual characteristics, I put a lot of attention and care into each of my creations. For me, it is a way to celebrate uniqueness and authenticity.

Conclusion: between passion and sharing

Whether through my profession or in my shop, my life revolves around support and sharing. This blog is a new step in this adventure: a space where I can tell my story, share my inspirations, and perhaps inspire you to create, to listen, or simply to take the time to do things with heart.
